My experience after doing genealogy for a great many years is that the surname of Geisler can be found in all parts of what is today called Germany. It seems to be a fairly common name there with several spelling variations. Besides the obvious ones of Giesler, Geissler, etc., I am told that a couple of hundred years ago in the Germanic alphabet of the time, K was used interchangeably with G so variants such as Keisler are also possible. You will have no difficulty finding Geislers in Germany everywhere so you will need to have specific data on your family in order to locate them in Germany, Silesia, areas of Poland today, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (all formerly parts of Prussia at one time). Good luck.
